Kari Ochi is a closed cattery. Every cat in our breeding programme is tested before it becomes a parent, and we keep checking our cats throughout their breeding life. Results are shown on each cat’s card.
The breed-specific panel (HCM1 · SMA · PKDef) for every breeding cat; some also have a full extended panel, shown on their cards.
FIV / FeLV negative. Before matings we also selectively test for other infections, such as calicivirus and coronavirus.
Echocardiography and hip X-rays are repeated regularly; new results are added to the cards.
Every cat joining us gets a full check-up and quarantine before meeting our cats.
